Rev 13:15 & 16-18 reveal a manditory, world-wide mark to be implanted in one's right hand or forehead, in order to buy or sell anything. There are several reasons an automated identification system would be appealing in today's fast-paced world. The technology of encoding identification data in living animals is being used by the SPCA in cats and dogs as a microchip implant. Similar applications intended for use as a subdermal monitoring system for small children and senior citizens are already appearing on the market. Advancements in science have made it possible to store one's entire personal information (i.e. social security number, banking information, medical records, etc.) in a small and discreet subdermal microchip which can be easily and affordably tucked under the first few layers of skin. At first, the initial benefits appear to be astronomical. With a globally mandated microchip implant, all monetary transactions would become electronically based, eliminating the possibility of loss or theft, and adding convenience and streamline to a number of applications. Analists suggest similar systems could even impede terrorist activity and funding due to the ability to monitor previously untraceable transactions.

However, Rev 14:9-11 warns that, if one takes this mark, they will be doomed to suffer God's wrath. Because of the high appeal and global demand for this form of system, the mark is extremely dangerous as many could, and will, be pursuaded to its benefits. Partial similarities to the true mark, or 666, have and will surface until the true mark becomes manditory, as written. When the true mark of the beast is here, it will fulfill its prophetic description in its entirety.
